The Lost Soul
He had been walking the same street for decades, though no one noticed. The living passed through him like smoke, their laughter and conversations just out of reach.
Once, he had a name. Once, he had a life. Now, he was just a whisper of cold air, a flicker in the corner of an eye.
Then, one rainy night, a child paused and looked right at him.
"Are you lost?" she asked.
The words unraveled something inside him. He remembered. And with that memory, he faded—finally free.
