THE PAlM WINE TAPPER

In a small village called Dumso, there lived an old man who was a great palm wine tapper called  Nana kofi.  He was 90 years of age but still strong going to farm to tape palm wine with his green bottle.  People in his community buys his wine for funerals, traditional marriages, outdooring of a child and pouring of libation.   Palm wine at those days is a very important drink which is never left out when there are festivals.   There came a time when some community members started stealing his palm wine but he did not suspect anyone until one day a friend, Kwaku Manu a chemical seller advised him to poison the green bottle so it will enable him to catch the person stealing.

Unfortunately, a stranger who lost his way to the neighbouring village was passing and pounced on the palm wine but because he was very tasty and needed water to drink, drunk the palm wine and immediately started shouting of stomach ache.  There was nobody in the farm to help him so he died.  This was very sad to see an innocent person dead whereas the thief himself was not caught.   When Nana Kofi arrived at the farm and saw the stranger lying on the floor dead, he concluded that he has caught the thief and raised an alarm.  All the community members and the neighbouring villages came to witness it.  Unlucky on Nana Kofi's side, the stranger happened to be his lost son he has been looking for.
